Gypsy Jazz Concert with Van Django
For the past 12 years, I’ve had the pleasure of playing with Van Django every Christmas. This year I will be doing my first official non-Christmas show with them at the Inlet Theatre!
Van Django is a well known Vancouver group that plays music in the style of Django Reinhardt. Reinhardt was was a Belgian-born Romani jazz guitarist and composer, known for his significant contributions to jazz music, particularly in the genre of gypsy jazz. He co-founded the Quintette du Hot Club de France and is celebrated for his innovative guitar techniques and compositions like "Minor Swing" and "Nuages."
Kicking off 2026 with a little Island tour!
I’m excited to have two island shows coming up to start off the New Year.
It starts in Victoria with my dear friend and exceptionally talented, Jack Lavin, who will be joining me on harp and a few duets as my very special guest . You might recognize his name as the producer of my record, Mama Danced. Jack and I always have a blast on stage! Then the next night the band and I hit Salt Spring Island.
This will be my first time playing The Coda and the Salt Spring Legion, so lets give them a show to remember!

The Blues Jams are always such a blast and I am thrilled to be hosting for the very first time. Up on stage we'll have a stellar band; with Jon Roper on guitar, Sara Varro on drums, and Brent Redberger on bass.

Wow, so pleased and happily surprised to get a shout out on Canadian Music Spotlight yesterday under their releases section for Mama Danced! I loved that they included info about my wonderful producer, Jack Lavin as well as Brandon Isaak who dueted with me on his excellent song Take My Message! Also mentioned were some of my favourite organizations - Rogue Folk Club, Victoria Blues Society, Fraser Valley Blues Society, Haida Gwaii Arts Council and of course Frankie's Jazz Club.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the women singers and musicians who’ve inspired my journey!

I received an early Christmas gift today! A sweet review in the Maple Blues Newsletter courtesy of Vancouver’s Paul Norton. Paul is a fervent blues supporter and in particular has been a wonderful cheerleader for my new album Mama Danced!
My thanks to both Paul and of course The Toronto Blues Society!
